Athens Greece

What a nice city. Our hotel is very centrally located. It is convient to walk around. Some of it can be hard. Walking up and down hills and stair cases. I think the people who built the stairs must have been Giants. or I just have very short leggs. The food is wonderful. The people for the most part are very nice. The view of all the things around are wonderful.

Bling

When we were in Israel my wonderful husband bought me a beautiful piece of jewelery. There is a story behind it. Our friends the Dajani's have a Bazaar in the Old Walled City of Jerusalem. On all our trips to Israel we have visited their store. Well last year the father passed away. This piece is the last one he designed before passed away. We have bought other items from him. So of course I had to have this piece.
I am so spoiled.

Cruise comes to a close

Wow what a wonderful time we have had. It is hard to believe it is almost over.
Tomorrow morning 10/25/08 we will be leaving the ms Rotterdam.

Then the Compadre's will be seeing the sites around Athens Greece.

I can hardly wait.

Soon enough we will be back in Anchorage and then the work begins to pay for the shopping Larry and I have done.

All in all we have had so much fun. When we were in Egypt I was amazed at the way people live. Dirty water in the canal, trash everywhere. The pyramids were very nice to see.

I am not sure about the internet access while we are in Athens so this may be my last post until we get back to Anchorage.

Jerusalem, Israel

Oh my goodness. Today we walked and walked. My short legs with large steps to climb was very difficult.
By the end of the day we were very tired. In bed and asleep by 9pm.
We were off the ship by 8 or so. Our tour guide had some problems with security. He finally allowed to get closer to the Ship.

Then a drive from Haifa to Jerusalem. I love being in Israel. Everytime we come back it is like returning home.

We were able to go the Garden Tomb. One of my favorites. Some walking through the old city.
Lunch

Then to the Dejanies store. Where my wonderful husband bought me a beautiful necklace. More about that later.

Then to walk the Old City Wall. That was a great experience. To look down and think about how the armies have protected that city time and time again.
I just love this place.

I truly believe there is no place on earth like it.

Sun and Relaxing

Today was a day at Sea. So we have been taking advantage of the wonderful WARM sun. Laying around and swimming when we got to hot.

I actually have some color (mostly red) but color just the same.

Tomarrow (10/21/08) we will be up at 5:30am and ready to disembark as soon as we are docked.
I am so excited to be going back to Israel. I can hardly wait.

Tonight was our second formal night. Larry and I are all dressed up.
Thanks to a great friend I had a beautiful outfit.
After dinner Larry and I were voted to be in a Newlywed game of sorts.

It was a lot of fun. Thank goodness I will probably never see any of those people again.

At Sea

Today we will be spending our day at Sea. Going back through the Bosporus, past Istanbul then through the Dardanelles. A strait about 38 miles long. Averaging about 180 feet deep. Should be exciting. The Captain will be busy for sure. Pictures to follow.

Bulgaria

Today we visited a traditional family home in the country. It was so neat to see how and where they live. The man and wife invited us to look at there home after they fed us some very nice food.
He sang and played the accordion.

Mc Donalds in Romania

Today we are in Constanta Romania.

What a pretty sea port. The Weather has been Fantastic.

We found a Mc Donalds here. The picture is Brenda with her Cherry Pie!

This Cruise is the best thing we have ever done.

Lastnight we were playing BINGO. I was one number from winning a 7 Day Cruise.

Darn I did not win.

Fun in Istanbul 10/13/08

 

Istanbul Turkey

We saw Istanbul Turkey.
We were on the Bosporus. A very busy waterway.
Today we get to relax as it is a day at sea.
I am amazed we are here. I keep pinching myself to make sure it isn't a Dream

This morning we are on the ms/Rotterdam. We left Athens at 5pm Saturday 10/11/08 which would have been 6am 10/11/08. So far our trip has went great. The wonders of all wonders is all the luggage got here with us.
